All of our livestock is quarantined before it reaches the retail floor in our in-store quarantine areas.
All of our fish shipments are acclimated into one of our three separate quarantine systems using industry standard acclimation techniques. The fish are then actively treated with basic medications while being observed for a two-week period to help ensure a healthy animal for our customers. Any fish showing signs of harder to treat disease is moved to our intensive quarantine for a longer and more specific treatment. We also make sure to feed the fish a wide variety of foods to help condition them to life in captivity and give you a fish that is already used to the aquarium life and foods. Once the fish are moved to the showroom floor, we feed a variety of frozen and dried foods to keep them healthy and looking great. We do our best to maintain excellent water quality in the main systems. Not onlyt do we perform the standard water changes, but our system also has an 800w UV sterilizer to help with overall cleanliness of the system.
All of our corals are acclimated in one of our three separate acclimation systems. After acclimation the corals are treated with appropriate treatments for each type of coral and the pests that are normally associated with them. The corals, as well as the system if applicable, are actively treated over a minimum two-week period. The corals then go through one final treatment before they are moved into one of our retail systems.
Our corals are kept in either our “hard coral” or “soft coral” systems on the showroom floor. Each system is controlled by a Neptune Apex system and has advanced filtration as well as advanced LED lighting. We use Brightwell aquatics supplements to maintain proper reef tank water parameters in all our reef systems. We feed the systems an assortment of different foods a few times a week as well as target feed specific corals that require more food.
All of our inverts are held in our invert quarantine system for a minimum of one week before they are moved into our retail system.
All of our wild live rock is pre cured in our live rock curing systems. It is cured in a submerged system as well as a drip system that keeps the bacteria on the rock alive but helps get rid of the pests. Our retail live rock system has LED lights over the top of it to help keep coralline algae on the rocks and encourage its growth.
